A NEW GENESIS

This series calls attention to the increasingly god-like powers scientists are acquiring to cheat death and re-define what it means to be human. New areas of research, like CRISPR gene editing, synthetic biology and anti-aging, promise humanity a future where we create ‘designer people’ that live multiple life times. The artist’s use of clay, psyllium husk, excessive white color and artist painted molecular portraits draw our attention to the re-birth of humanity in who’s image is yet to be determined. Questions around ethics, identity, power and privilege arise, but is this self-directed evolution inevitable given our egotistical nature?
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27
